Dear Jervois

Dear Jervois is a new cafe with opened a few weeks ago at 234 Jervois Road.
Mum and I went there the other morning to try it out and see what the atmosphere was like. The staff were so friendly and the service was great! My family and I went there today for brunch. I had the mushroom stack with poached eggs, hash brown and lentils. It was a perfect size and so tasty. Definitely try it out if you're in the area!

Study Tips!

Mads and I came up with some successful study tips that have helped us to study :)

#1 Be organised.

Start early. Try and keep your notes organised into different classes and in chronological order so that when it comes time to study them at the end of the term you know what is where. It sounds like a bit of a mission but you will be thankful at exam time trust me.
Use things like folders to keep them separated and different coloured highlighters for different headings etc.

#2 Keep hydrated.

Keep a cup with tea / coffee & a water bottle close by at all times. Keeping hydrated is key to staying alert and keeping your brain active.

#3 Snacks.

We all know studying is boring so make it a little more exciting with some yummy snacks. My favourite study snacks are nuts and raisins.

#4 Take regular breaks.

Short regular breaks help to keep you on track when studying. This will stop you from feeling completely bogged down and overwhelmed. Go for a walk, call up a friend, have a toasted sammie, refresh your brain then get back into it!

#5 Quiz yourself.

A great way to do this is with flash cards. Once you've gone over all the content you need to know, narrow it down to a few definitions and make up some flash cards. Quiz yourself with them or get a friends to quiz you.

#6 Have an awesome study buddy!

Of course mine is Maddy. We set up a study den in the living room of her new flat where it's nice and warm and quiet. We have snacks and candles and it's nice having someone around who is studying too.

#7 Write it out as if you're explaining it to someone else.

This is the best way to understand and memorise things.

#8 Previous exams are your best friend.

I always make the mistake of not spending enough time looking at the previous exams they give us to help us study. The exams are almost always exactly the same, so base your study plan on this.

Sydney 12th June - 16th June

Thursday 12th I went to Sydney for the tenth time in just under a year to visit Lorenzo. On the Friday Lorenzo, Alicia, Jon and I went to lunch at The Beresford Hotel in Surry Hills for lunch. It was so good, the sweet fries were the best fries I've ever had! The picture is of the spatchcock dish.

On the Saturday night Lorenzo and I stayed at The Grace Hotel to celebrate our 4 years together. We went to my favourite restaurant for dinner which is called Vapiano. I highly recommend it if you're in Sydney - its cheap and has such a cool vibe. Staying at The Grace was so relaxing and nice. In the morning we had the buffet breakfast which was just perfect :)

On Sunday we had a late check out, did some shopping then went to Alicia's baby shower for her Sydney friends.

Around the first week of August I will finally be moving to Sydney. I can't wait!

Goodness Gracious - 4th June.

I thought it was only appropriate that my first blog post was about food and it contained Maddy. I had the bagel burger and Mads and Tyla had the kransky bagel. The juices there are amazing and so are the smoothies. This is one of my favourite new spots!
